Premier Cru "Climats":

Corton-Charlemagne : This Grand Cru is situated on the three growing areas of Ladoix Serrigny, Pernand Vergelesses and, mainly, Aloxe Corton. The Bouchard Père & Fils estate Corton Charlemagne comes from Aloxe Corton.

Corton : This great wine can also come from the three growing areas of Ladoix Serrigny, Pernand Vergelesses and mainly Aloxe Corton. This Grand Cru can be followed by the name of the "Climat" from which it comes, such as the Bouchard Père & Fils estate, Corton "Le Corton" which is produced in Aloxe Corton.

Ladoix Serrigny is at the north of the Côte de Beaune, just before the Côte de Nuits. The red wines produced here are generally fine and aromatic, pleasantly supple. The white wines (only 5% of the "Appellation") usually require a little ageing to develop the soft aromas of ripe apple, fig and nut.

Taking its name from the Celtic Doix or Douix meaning spring or fountain, Ladoix, attached to the hamlet of Serrigny, has a spring which forms a stream. The Village is situated at the foot of the Corton mountain. The vineyard is at an average altitude of 220 to 360 metres facing south-south-east and mostly planted with Pinot Noir, giving fuller bodied wines on the Aloxe Corton side, and finer wines on the north of the "Appellation".
