A mosaic of terroirs
History and geography have moulded Burgundy into a veritable mosaic of appellations with countless nuances.
Four levels of appellation
In the Côte d’Or, the hierarchy of appellations is illustrated on the hillsides of the vineyards slope: the Regional Appellations spread out on the plain, the Village Appellations are found essentially at the foot of the slope, while the Premiers Crus and Grands Crus generally occupy the heart of the hillside.
